Sheroes: Female Role Models Throughout History

Inspired by the book Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls, this program highlights famous women and girls all over the world-- from suffragettes, boxers, painters, scientists,  directors, and more! The scope of female representation in STEM, the humanities, politics, and sports of past and present day will be covered. Girls have the chance to be the shero of their own story with a blank book and fun embellishments.

Recommended for 4th-12th grade girls.

Objective:

• Expose students to young girls and women who are positive role models with a rich diversity of talents and skills.

• Recognize that girls and women have made history through their accomplishments for centuries and that women are equally capable and competent as their male counterparts.

• Inspire girls to think about their own talents and what they can contribute to the world.

Dialogue, group activity, role model game, and art project. 90 minutes.
